The history of this company begins in 1867, when the great-grandfather Santo Di Maio, returning from Argentina, resumed the cultivation of family vineyards, expanding both production and surface area, mixed carricante and nerello mascalese vineyards. The same vineyards, from which it all began, are today under the management of the grandchildren.
In a unique and rugged territory such as Etna, the Eredi di Maio company cultivates its own secular vineyards, and makes wine from its own grapes, carrying out essential land cultivation while respecting nature and the territory, the right recipe for obtaining great quality wines. In an area of approximately three hectares, white grapes are grown and above all the native vine of the Etna areas, the Carricante, the Etna Bianco Superiore DOC which can be produced, only and exclusively with grapes coming from the Milo area and in a small part the old Nerello Mascalese vineyards.
